Abstract

The E36 experiment has been carried out at J-PARC to search for Lepton Universality violation in the kaon two body decays K l2 . A precise value of the decay width ratio RK=?(Ke2) =?(K?2) will be extracted and compared with the standard model (SM) value. Any sizable difference would suggest new physics beyond the SM. Simultaneously, E36 is sensitive to light U(1) gauge bosons which could be associated with dark matter or explain established muon-related anomalies (g-2). The experiment as well as the status of the analysis will be presented.
