Abstract

In the present paper, results related to the level determination at a Jet oil storage vessel, located in the
International Airport "Jose Martí", by the neutron profile technique are brought to discussion. Using an Am-Be (37 MBq) neutron source and a thermal He-3 neutron detector, values between 10.8-10.85 m in height were encountered during the one wall-side scanning of the vessel. This technique. based on the neutron backscattering principie, was also employed for thickness inspection of wall vessel and as it was expected, lower reinforced steel sheets achieved a slight higher thickness than the upper one.
