Abstract

This paper summarizes the main activities carried out during the last 20 years aimed at developing human and material capacities supporting the creation of a dating laboratory for determining the age of sedimentary deposits using the quartz optically stimulated luminescence technique. Following an analysis of the background conditions that served as the basis for the decision to start this project, the specific goals are exposed and the achieved results are presented. Finally, the perspective developments are commented.
