Abstract

The aim of this work is identify the main radionuclides impurities produced at the irradiation of [18O]H2O enriched water with 18 MeV protons in Niobium liquid target with a HAVAR window foil. The main radioisotopes that constitute contaminants in the synthesis process were determined. The efficiency of this process was verified to guarantee a high radionuclidic purity in 18F obtained in the manufacturing process of [18F]FDG, complying with the standards established in the current pharmacopoeias and regulations.
