Implementación y desarrollo de métodos para la cuantificación del flujo sanguíneo cerebral en unidades absolutas mediante tomografía por emisión de fotones

Resumen

En este trabajo nos propusimos implementar los métodos gráfico y espectral de cuantificación en unidades absolutas del flujo sanguíneo cerebral, mediante tomografía computarizada por emisión de fotón único y comparar los resultados de su aplicación. Asimismo se desarrolló una tercera forma de calcular el flujo, a partir de una modificación del método espectral. Los valores de flujo obtenidos con los métodos gráfico, espectral y espectral modificado fueron 43,6 6,1 ml/min/100 g, 43,3 8,2 ml/min/100 g y 43,0 4,7 ml/min/100 g, respectivamente. Estos métodos son sencillos, no invasivos y se pueden realizar en las condiciones tecnológicas de nuestro país. Con el método espectral modificado se pueden evitar algunos de los inconvenientes de los otros métodos. La automatización del cálculo con un software desarrollado localmente, permite alta reproducibilidad en el proceso. Estos métodos se pueden convertir en una valiosa herramienta para complementar el diagnóstico clínico y abordar otros importantes problemas neurocientíficos.
